If Minecraft is not updated to the latest version for any reason, all you need to do is:-<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Open the Minecraft launcher and log into your Microsoft\/Mojang\/account.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">From the left sidebar, select <strong>\u201cMinecraft: Java Edition.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Click on the popup menu at the bottom left of the launcher (besides the settings tab). The results should bring up <strong>\u2018Minecraft Launcher.\u2019<\/strong> Click on it, and then click on uninstall.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Alternatively, you can search for the Minecraft Launcher in the Start Menu, right-click on it, then click on <strong>\u2018Uninstall.\u2019<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">However, this only takes care of the launcher. It does not uninstall the game itself, which must be deleted manually. Your worlds can be found in the \u2018Saves\u2019 folder, and your texture packs can be found in the \u2018Resourcepacks\u2019 folder. (Don\u2019t leave it in the Recycle Bin, delete it from there too!)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">After this, you can reinstall the launcher (you will have to sign in to your Mojang\/Microsoft account to reinstall the game). Then, after installation, the launcher should be ready to download the latest version of Minecraft java. Now, you can place your copied world saves and texture packs into their default folders in the game\u2019s directory.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_update_Minecraft_Bedrock_Edition\"><\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">How to update Minecraft: Bedrock Edition<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>(If you have the Java edition instead, read the previous section and skip this one)<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Updating_Minecraft_from_the_Microsoft_Store\"><\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Updating Minecraft from the Microsoft Store<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Also known as the Windows 10 edition, the bedrock edition cannot be updated directly from the launcher; it can only be updated from the Microsoft Store: &#8211;<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Open the <strong>Microsoft<\/strong> Store.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Open the <strong>\u2018Library\u2019<\/strong> tab. Now it should update your game to the latest version.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">After following the above steps, you can access Minecraft: Bedrock edition from the \u2018Minecraft for Windows\u2019 tab on the sidebar of the Minecraft launcher.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_If_the_Above_Method_Is_Not_Working\"><\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">What If the Above Method Is Not Working?<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">If Minecraft: Windows Edition refuses to update even after following the above steps, there are a few different fixes you can try to check if Minecraft is working correctly.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Reset_Minecraft\"><\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Reset Minecraft<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Resetting will reset Minecraft to its original state, and if there are any minor errors, fix them as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Open <strong>Settings.<\/strong> You can access Settings from the Start menu, or by pressing \u2018Windows + I,\u2019 or by searching for it in the Search box.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In Settings, click on Apps. If there are still no updates available, the only option remaining is to reinstall the game.
